Ladies and Gentlemen.....

Welcome to the Big Top! Yep, we went to the circus! It was the Kazim Shriner's Circus. Little Hauss LOVED it.
My friend's dad is a Shriner and just happen to have 2 tickets up for grabs, so Little Hauss and I got them!!! Hubby had to work, blah! so he got to miss out on all the fun! I think he was a little dissappointed that he couldn't tag a long!
It started at 7:30, so to avoid the type of scene we had last year (ya know, the one that any parent of a toddler has dealt with....screaming and kicking, slashing arms, and bowing back.....that type of tantrum that you swear that everyone in the ENTIRE place is staring daggers into you, you are prespiring so much, you're afraid that everyone can smell the sweat seeping from your pores, and your flushed, flustered and about ready to die of embarrassment - yeah, that scene.....yeah, that was us and we barely made it in the tent before we were heading back to the car!), so, I waited until almost 7 to leave the house....and did NOT tell Little Hauss where we were going. We had to park out in a land far far away and take a shuttle to the civic center. Little Hauss actually asked me if that was his surprise....the bus!! Doesn't take much with this one! SO, I finally had to spill the beans about where we were going and he proceeded to talk (very loud I might add) about the BIG circus and asked everyone if the would like to come with?
Got there and found a seat......took a little while to start, but once the lights went out, he was like a deer in headlights! The elephant "Bo" was our favorite! You should see the tricks this guy does! Amazing. We liked the trapeze and tigers jumping through fire as well!
Intermission came and we jet! He was about done and I knew what was waiting for me after cotton candy and sprite if we didn't leave soon! He passed out within blocks of leaving the parking garage he was so wiped out!
My biggest accomplish of the night is that I didn't walk out of there with a glow in the dark sword or stuffed elphant on a stick! AND, we got outta there before he even had a chance to ask to ride a "Bo"! I mean they are cute (up in the bleachers), but up close and personal....couldn't imagine how long that smell would stay with you!!!

If you have a chance to go to a Shriner's circus you should!!! Support your local Shriner Temple!

What is your best side?

Of the bed? I prefer the right, well, left of bed if you are looking at the headboard, but right if you are in it facing the foot!
I don't know why, I just do. It's really odd acutally, because Hubby and I have been together for about a zillion years and we've just always had our sides. There was no discussion or switching of sides to make sure we were comfy. It just was, is! Never will change I'm pretty sure as long as we live sharing a bed! I apparently don't conform to change very well. I like things the way I like them, so that's how they have to be. Period!
So, for years, Hubby has worked nights. He is gone 5 nights out of the week, leaving me the spacious bed all to myself. I can sleep wherever my heart desires. Middle, his side, upside down, anywhere. I have full reign and can take advantage of the openess all I want. But I don't.
Now, who in their right mind does that? Me. I totally sleep on my side of the bed. I'm nutso, I know, but I just can't seem to get comfortable or relaxed unless I'm on my side.
Hubby could care less about sides. I mean, he has one 2 nights a week when he's home with me, but other than that, he has no boundaries! He's all about spreading out and taking full advantage of all that space. Kicking up the covers, squishing my pillow, pulling the sheets free from the tucked corners....with no regard to the fact that just a few short hours after he gets out of the bed I get in it.
In all fairness, most of the 5 nights he's gone, he has "made" the bed for me. Its a sweet gesture and means a lot because I have a slight neurotic side that won't allow me to enter an unmade bed. Wierd I know, but oh well, love it or hate it - that's just me!

25 Random Things About Me!

I did this on Facebook, so thought I would post here as well:

1. I can't bake. AT ALL. I am all about box mixes! This doesn't mean I won't stop trying.
2. I plan plan plan. I am notorious for planning to plan. My fiends just love it! Yeah right! Can't help it....I like to have my calendar all marked up with things to do.
3. I love blogging. I read them, have my own and check them daily.
4. I don't do laundry. EVER.
5. I love love love when Little Hauss crawls in bed with us and snuggles up for the early morning sleep.

8. I love my job more than I ever imagined I would and really miss the girls I work with on the weekends and our morning coffee talks!
9. I change my hair often. I have to change the cut, style, color, whatever. I just get the urge and have to do it....NOW! My hairdresser is fabulous and just goes along!
10. I love to paint but don't do it as often as I would like. I do the glassware for commisison, but haven't done anything for myself in years. I hope to work on some canvases this year....
11. I don't call my grandmothers as much as I should. I miss them dearly and see them at least 4-5 times a year. I really should make an effort to do that!
12. I am excited about my new Monday night bible study and hope to learn a lot.

19. I miss my parents so much. I wish they lived here again. Still holding out for them to come back for retirement soon!
20. I think Little Hauss looks like me too. Most people only see his daddy in him, but I can see my dad, brother and myself. I wish everyone could see it too!
21. I worry about Hubby and his line of work. I don't think about it much, but when I do I can get upset.....You never know what can happen. He does look good in uniform so that's a positive.
22. I like a good cry....usually comes when watching a sappy girly movie.
23. I love to hear Little Hauss talk.....I do, I promise and NO, I'm not jealous because he takes up my talking time...really!

25. I make the bed while Hubby is still in it....just so I can get in it too! I have a thing about getting in a made up bed.

If you want, do it too!!! I love to learn about my cyber friends!

What I've found so far!

So, I didn't make it out shopping over the weekend, so I settled for online browsing! Here are a few pairs of shoes I think that might work! I really like the chunky mary jane type shoe. I do wear them to work, but mostly I like with jeans and nice top.....I'm trying really hard to look more grown up, ya know, now that I'll be 30 this year! I mean, I would really hate to end up on What Not To Wear one day!!!!
These were found on websites of local stores like Target, Payless (YAY -cheapo I like lots), and The Shoe Dept. I know that inevitably I will have to make the dreaded trip to go to these stores and try them on, but I just don't know where to find the time!
I know I'm getting older because I'm going for more comfort and casual than trendy and funky! There were days where I would wear a shoe that would KILL my feet just because they looked H.O.T.!!! I just don't have the patience for it now! And, I stick mostly with blacks, browns and muted tones, but I'll never forget the red leather peep toe slingbacks I had in college!!! Did I mention H.O.T? these were smokin'!!

Other than online browsing some, we didn't have much of an eventful weekend. Friday was spent at a friends house (just me and Little Hauss) so Hubby could catch up on some sleep. We had such a good time....Little Hauss was so good and sweet! My girlfriend has such a kid friendly house. She doesn't have children, but between me and some other friends, she has plenty visit! So, she keeps kid cuisines and juice boxes on hand along with a fun filled toy box!!! They all love this and it entertains them for hours! Little Hauss asked if he could stay all night, so I'm sure there is a slumber party in the works for the summer!
Saturday, Hubby convinced me that it would fun to help him clean up from cutting down the trees and clear all the brush! Yeah, notsomuch!! It was freezing and lots of limbs, branches, etc that we hauled to the curb.....did I mention it was freezing? We were all popsicles when we left but I did get some exercise! I guess that counts for something since we didn't make it to the gym!
Yesterday was nice and lazy! After church, we just lounged while Little Hauss napped! I love those kinds of days! I actually put something in the crockpot, so I didn't even have to cook!!!
Now, back to the grind! I can't wait to have my normal Friday off!!! =)

Baby Fever

I have a few baby showers coming up soon which has manifested into major baby fever for me! It's been burried deep down for a while, but now is slowly coming to the surface! I know that in an earlier post, I made reference to thinking about thinking about trying come late summer/early fall, but now I'm on a mission! We ARE NOT trying yet at all! Believe me, there are a few steps that need to be taken before that's really possible, however, we are seriously discussing the details of when to start trying! Major planning on ours parts is necessary this time around!
As I've said before, I work part time. Therefore, I have no benefits of sicks days or maternity leave. SO, we have to really calculate my time off with a good savings plan as well as adjusting for a newborn in this household (i.e. diapers, daycare, etc). We are fairly certain that with our careful budgeting/savings plan that HUBBY developed, we can do this and be A-OK!
I know you may think I'm completely insane for planning this early, but I have to. Partly its my type A personality, but in addition, its necessary to think that far ahead with such a big life change! Either way, there will be some changes in this household within a year or so! It can't come soon enough!

On the lookout....again!

This is cute mary jane that I just found on sale for $20 at the DSW shoe store in GA. Well, I've barely gotten them broken in and they are already messed up! The front sole is starting to come apart from the base of the shoe!!!!!! Not.happy.at.all!! So, as these were to replace the other chunky flats I had been wearing for the past few years (that I finally wore out), I'm now in search for another cute chunky flat! I guess I can't complain that my weekend will be filled with shoe shopping, but I am really bummed! Now, I have to wait for my mom to visit so I can send the shoes back with her to return for me! Damn shoe!

1.22.2009

Tips are appreciated!

This is a video my mom (Gigi) captured of Little Huass showing off in the "shadow" room at the Children's Museum!

He is a natural I must say and has mad talent! I might just be able to quit my job now and throw him into Hollywood.....So, you think you can dance?!! Damn right! I'll be rolling in the dough and he can support my Starbucks habit! I'll be his manager of course and then after years of childhood stardum, he'll fire me at the mature age of 13 and we won't speak any longer! Can't wait!

1.21.2009

Ughh!

We left the camera in GA! In the side door pocket of my mom's car! This is like losing a limb!!! I hope nothing too cute happens in the next couple of weeks because I won't be able to document it with a picture!!! Depending on when they are headed this way (my dad works up here lots, so it usually isn't too far inbetween visits), I might need them to put it in the mail!

And, my internet was acting all funky last night....one second, online, next, no server!!! Whatever ~ I guess its God's way of helping me with my new years resolution....less laptop time at home!! More time with family!

I will have some pics and a cutie video to post soon because mom is sending me the ones that she snapped!

Happy Hump Day....can't wait til I'm over it!

So much fun!

Sorry for being out to touch for a few days-we're in GA visiting Gigi and Pop and have been having too much fun to blog!
Thanks to Little Hauss for the 5:45 wake up call this morning, I'm able to post a little something!

The trip down was wonderful! Little Hauss is so used to traveling and is usually really good in the car...even for 7 hrs! This time was no different. He had his leap pad and dvd player to entertain him for the ride down and did not disappoint!

Friday we woke up early (not as early as today) and got ready to brave the frigid cold outside so we could explore the Imagine It! Children's Interactive Museum downtown Atlanta! If you live near ATL or have something similar in your area, I strongly reccommend taking your child! It was so much fun. Little Hauss was in heaven. I promise to post pictures and a video soon! There were all types of learning things for their little hands and minds to explore - it was really neat. There were a lot of preschools there as well, so it was fun to watch Little Hauss interact with all the other children!
We met Pop for lunch at The Varsity for some old fashion hot dogs and greasy fries (um, except me, who ate a grilled chicken salad - I'm really surprised they even had something healthy on the menu)! Little Hauss went back to the house with Pop and Hubby for a nap and mom and I went shopping at IKEA! I love that store. We returned to the house and litterally got in our pjs, started a fire and cozied up to the couch because it was too cold to do anything else!
Yesterday, we got to sleep in until about 7:30ish...and then started our busy day of running around. We hit up Trader Joes for some wine and beer (very unique flavors at a great price) and went to some random Japanese Market (my dad's a little obsessed with sushi) then back to the house to drop the boys off and more shopping for me and mom!
I've been looking for new casual/dress black shoes that are comfy! There is a DSW shoes here, so went there and found way too much! I really shouldn't wonder why I never have any money leftover! I spend it all here!!! Found a cute mary jane wedge for HALF off!!! Can't beat that! and then found some adorable tennis shoes - I think they are called bikers shoes. They are really light weight and thinner soul, but perfect for running around! Those were a steal too!
Last night we headed to an all you can eat sushi restaurant and I'm pretty sure I'm still full! I didn't even eat that much, but it was soooooooo yummy! I'm fairly certain that is one the only reasons Hubby made the trip! Hehe! One of my parents neighbors watched Little Hauss (they have 2 little girls around the same age) and he had such a good time, he didn't even want to come home!
Today we'll hopefully get to see one of my friends from high school and her family and then my cousins are heading over here later this afternoon for some old fashion game playing! We've got board games, checkers, pool and I'm sure we'll be watching some football!
Fun times....I hate that we'll be leaving tomorrow!

Gingerbread Man, goose egg, and liquid crack

KPC from Look, there's a chicken came over on Tuesday and painted!! She did a fabulous job and I can't wait to see what she will be creating next. Below is her plate she made. She has a few embellishments to do around the edges, but here's what she got done so far:

On another note, I went to pick up Little Hauss yesterday at school and the teacher asked me what happened to his head???? What do you mean, what happened? I look, and there is a HUGE golf ball sized goose egg popping out of his forehead!!!! There is a vertical bruised line in the center of it and it looked horrible. The teacher claims that he noticed after snack and in his defense, I really didn't notice at first because Little Hauss's hair covers most of it. He said he asked Little Hauss about it when he first noticed it, and Little Hauss had conflicting stories. 1- Another kid pushed him into a wall and 2 - it happened at home! Well, Little Hauss did have a run in with the bathtub the previous night, but it was with daddy, so I never knew where he got hurt or if it caused a knot! I assumed if had been that bad, daddy would have definitely said something. So, the teacher and I tried to talk to Little Hauss, but he really wouldn't cooperated and I told teacher that I would get to the bottom of this and let him know today. Well, after Little Hauss had a snack and we had some time to chill at home, both Hubby and I tried to get it out of him. Well, we did and yes in fact another kid had pushed him. Well, by the looks of it, I would think that he was pushed into a corner of two adjoining walls due to the line and size of knot!! I know he's a tough kid, but I would also assume that he cried at least a little!!! So, my concern is, why didn't anyone notice until snack??? AFTER naptime??? Really, that could have been dangerous to let him sleep after such a blow!
Nevertheless, I spoke with teacher this morning at drop off and he will follow up. So, I guess we'll just wait and see. Note: the kid that did the pushing has a few strikes against him already!!
Hubby said, that he might just have to teach Little Hauss another way to handle the situation next time!! That's all I need....

And for the liquid crack, aka starbucks! I have been dragging all week, but knew that with a long trip ahead of me today, I would be in need of something to put the pep back into my step!!! So, I flew through the drive thru this morning on my way to preschool for a very large aka venti coffee!!! It has done the job!!

Now, we are heading to HOTlanta...well, it aint so hot, but it'll be fun!!!

Food, Friendship, and Painting

I'm super excited about my evening! KPC from Look, There's a Chicken is coming over for the evening to perfect her craftiness! She swears she doesn't have the creative juices flowing, but I'm fairly certain she'll do fantastic!
I'm preparing her a light meal of marinated pork loin, roasted asparagus, and sweet potato "chips" with a decedent low cal dessert of angel food cake, berries and cool whip! We are trying to make healthy food choices and lose some weight, so I don't want to spoil all our hard work!
After dinner, we'll be partaking in some glass painting! I will be working on some wine glasses or an olive oil botte perhaps while she will be doing some glass plates!
More than anything I'm excited about the company!
I'll post pictures of our handiwork soon!

Grease is the word....

Its the word, Its the word!!!

One of my all time favorite movies!! It's on tv tonight! YAY for me! I'm recording it to watch after my bubble bath and glass of wine!

I really need to get it on dvd......I think I'll have to put that on my to do list this week!

Better...

No more fever, but still a little worn out. We went out for a friend's 30th surprise birthday last night and I should have stayed home!
I was the DD and we didn't even stay out late, but I think it was the smoke that did me in! My throat was so sore by the time we got home and I was just tired!
We got to "sleep in" until about 8:15 this morning since Little Hauss was at the MIL's. Hubby took me to breakfast and then we picked him up. Good thing he stayed over there last night becasue he was up at 5:30 this morning!!!! He's was passed out before we even got him home!
I did make it to the grocery store at least! Hubby's doing some laundry and I will probably make dinner! That's about all that will get accomplished today!

Feverish...

**Note: this was a post for Friday, Jan 9, but I have having internet issues!**

My day off, and I get a fever!!! It sucks.

I had the chills last night, but it was cold outside, so I just thought maybe I was really cold....but then I got home and got the aches and pains in addition to the chills. I took 1/4 dose of Nyquill just so I could sleep better, and woke up feeling groooooogggggyyyy!! I hate that stuff. So, I went to the gym, ran some errands and downed 2 cups of coffee thinking that would perk me up! It hyped me up a bit, but still didn't feel 100%.

I finally took my temp and it was 101.5! SO, I tried to lay down, but was too awake from the coffee! After a few tylenol and lounging on the couch, I felt much better. Within 3 1/2 hours, I was starting to fell bad again....tylenol was starting to wear off! Took some more and I'm feeling much better.

The suckiest part is that Hubby and I were supposed to go to dinner with friends tonight and we have to postpone!!! AGAIN! Oh well, I'd rather feel good and have fun, then go and be miserable!

So, off to

I'm not as stupid as you think....

I'm a girly girl! I don't love the outdoors and I don't know much about cars, BUT, I do know when my car is all jacked up!
So, after a lot of time researching, ranting, and running my poor car all over town to have this and that looked at, it's finally fixed!!!
My mechanic got the PCV valve from the subaru dealership and replaced it today!! As soon as I started it, it was purring like a kitten! He saved the old valve that the Valvoline guys used and lemme tell ya, it didn't look new! I don't know where it came from, but it looked either used or like the same freakin' part that was already in my car! Lesson: PCV valves rattle when they are working properly but don't when they are clogged....
So, I took it to Valvoline and demanded my money back. The manager was all smug and shook the valve and it rattled and he made a smart comment about it being fine! I told him, that yes, it might rattle, but it looked all gummed up and that as soon as the other part was in my car an hour earlier, it was running perfectly! He didn't like that and gave me the money back. He asked where I got the part and who did it. Of course I told him that I got the part directly from Subaru and my mechanic did it without charging me LABOR! I paid double at Valvoline for that part!!! I'm sure he thought I was just a stupid girl that wouldn't question diddly about it! WRONG! I won't go down without a fight and I'm sure as hell not gonna let you walk all over me!
I will NEVER go there again. I will have Hubby changing the oil from now on and all maintenance will be done by my mechanic.
Just don't piss me off and we'll all get along fine!

1.08.2009

Idle...

That's what my car has been doing....idling HIGH!!! It's ridiculous! I got an oil change at Valvoline in early December. I usually go somewhere else, but had a coupon, and with the way things are these days, who can't stand to save a little money!!! So, I went in, they did the oil change and replaced a PCV valve. Whatever...I'm such a girl with all the mechanical stuff, but it did look clogged and it wasn't that expensive, so, go for it, change it! WELL, after that, my car sounded different. I thought, hmmmm, that's odd. Maybe it's just cold, or whatever. I mentioned it to hubby, so he drove it and thought the same thing, but he said maybe it would correct itself so give it a week or so. Sounds as if the engine is trying harder or something. Well, I needed gas too, so I filled it up and went on my merry way. A couple weeks went by and I was on E, so I filled up again.....noticing that my overall mileage was considerably less than what it should have been for a full tank - about 35 miles less to be exact! I thought, odd!!! So, after filling up, I reset my odometer as usual.
Little Hauss must have been playing around with the interior lights while getting out the car one evening, and ran down the battery, so then the next day, it wouldn't start! This was actually a GOOD thing, because when Hubby went to jump it, we notice the antifreeze was leaking.....so I immediately drove it to the garage, they looked at it and tightened the hose.....not really "leaking" but just was loose! So, I asked about the idling....they told me to bring it in the following Monday and they'd check it out.....HERE's where it gets wacko!! I literally drove the car about 10 miles that day total, and noticed that my tank was already down almost a quarter tank!!!!!!! WTF???? So, I call the mechanic (yes, I have his home number) and told him what was going on.....he told me to park it!
NOTHING!!!! is what he found! Diagnostic tests, O2 sensor, fuel line, air filter, all the obvious things - they checked it......
I've now had it checked by a mechanic, tires rotated and balanced, air filter changed, and I even called Valvoline asking if they could have possibly done anything out of the ordinary to make this happen. Of course they didn't, but it could be a clogged fuel filter that they would gladly replace for the low cost of $79.99!! Bull shit they will! They are so not touching my car!
BUT, now after some research on my own with the help of a few car tinkering friends, I think the PCV valve is BAD!!!!! Yes, all the typical signs of a bad PCV valve!!! idling high, bad gas mileage!!! I called the garage...they didn't check the valve because I said that it just was replaced....but they are gonna check it now and Valvoline is gonna get a piece of my mind but no more of my business! And I'm gonna get some money back!
I've now decided that Hubby and I will take matters into our own hands with the cars....he KNOWS how to change oil, so there is no reason that we should be paying someone else to do it!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

The Grouch!

There is a grouch that has found its way into our workplace and I don't like it! At. All.
He doesn't even work in my office. He's all the way accross the street in a different office, but nonetheless, he grates my nerves!
He's too sensative, whiney, and everyday is a bad day. He doesn't speak, but mumbles, is careless and STILL can't figure out what job he's actually supposed to do!
Everyone has their fair share of bad days. You vent, you deal! You don't let it linger around all of your co-workers. It makes everyone else grumpy.
So, learn how to cope! Leave your issues at home and smile, even if you don't want to! Pretend!!! Its not that hard because the rest of us have all done it! So, I tell you grouch, it is possible!

1.04.2009

How can you say NO to this?

Just put Little Hauss to bed, and inevitably, he always finds ways to NOT go to bed....water, bathroom, one time it was even to wash his hands!!! SO, I was leaving his room, and he says, "May I have one more thing?" I say "what?" in an annoyed voice, and he says "One more hug and kiss"!!!!!!!! Awww, just melt my heart! Love it!

The Baby Store

What do you think this is? Well, some might say, a store where you buy goods for a baby.....ya know, cribs, clothes, bibs, diapers, toys, etc.

Well, that's not quite it according to Little Hauss!

Let me set it up:

Hubby and are are talking about talking about having a baby! Does that make any sense? Well, we've started looking at timing, and when we MIGHT want to bring another baby in this family, but that's as far as it goes. We haven't really settled on much yet, but I do want another one, we're just not there YET!
So, sometimes we'll see friends with babies or talk about babies or whatever, and Little Hauss picks up on this and we'll ask, 'do you want a baby brother or sister?' and he sometimes says yes and sometimes its no (all depending on his mood). Tonight this is how it went:

Little Hauss: I'm a good big brother
Me: You're not a big brother. Do you want to be a big brother?
LH: Yeah, I want a baby brother.
Me: Ok, I'll have to talk to your dad about that. We'll see how it goes.
LH: Ok, can we go get one at the baby store???????
Me: Speechless!!!!!!

I just had to laugh. He was so serious and its so darn cute to see how those little minds work!!! Now, let's see if I can convince him a baby sister would be good too!!!! Hehe!

Is it possible....

For a person to become ONE with a piece of furniture, like a couch?
I'm pretty sure my arse has affixed itself to the couch this weekend and it is going to take A LOT to get it to work tomorrow!

Seriously, I took full advantage of no work, Little Hauss feeling a little under the weather, and Hubby being home for 4 days, and we've just been completely lazy! I am hoping that Little Hauss can go to school tomorrow. I mean, I'd love to have another day off work, but that means, I'd have to go in on Friday.....yuck, so we'll see how it all works out! He's not really feverish, but just a little tired and clingy. It is kind of nice to just lay around and watch movies and cuddle, except we've seen 'Cat in the Hat' about 4 times and his personalized 'Spiderman' video about 12 - not kidding!

I have made good use of my couch sitting time by being a little travel agent for Hubby and friend for their trip to Austin, TX in march for a wedding! I will find the best deal possible! I love it but sometimes it can take a while! We have finalized a flight and now are working on hotels! Um, I will NOT allow $250/night for a room just because that is where the groom will be!!!! There are perfectly suitable alternatives within 1/2 mile of that hotel that are MUCH cheaper!

Other than that, I've been checking on school info - yes, I've decided to go back to school - all in another post! and working on our own little vacay sometime this summer....SO, I've not been completely lazy.....my fingers have done alot of work!! Now, I think my coffee is ready, so I need to get my arse off the couch and fill up my cup!

New Years "Campout" 2008-09

Picnic with "camp" food (hot dogs, tater tots, chips, veggies, fruit, and cheese)

Little Hauss' first tent (a tad small, but he didn't notice)

Roasting Marshmallows (in our wood stove) for Smores

SMORES! Little Hauss doesn't get chocoate very often, so this was big treat!

Helping Daddy blow the fire off the marshmallows....Zoey watching hoping for some crumbs!

Zeus and Zoey trying get in the tent with Mommy and Little Hauss
Our "Campout" was a success. Little Hauss LOVED his tent and making smores! We watched 2 movies and some football, played some games, and just hung out! Little Hauss made it until about 10:30, and finally zonked out! I really wasn't too far behind him. I can't remember the last time I saw the ball actually drop??? I'm getting old!
Today, we've already undecorated the house and it always makes me a little sad! I get used to the normalness eventually, but the tree, lights, and all the specialness from the Christmas decorations just makes the house seem so much warmer. I guess I'll just have to keep on redecorating to finally get it how I want it to be all the time!! I'm sure Hubby will LOVE that. More work for him! I'm hoping to get the light fixtures hung tomorrow!
So, on another note, the HOKIES play today in the Orange Bowl at 8pm! We are having our bestest friends over to watch with us. We haven't seen this couple in way too long.....so it should be fun! We usually see them on a weekly basis, but with all the hustle and bustle from the holidays, its been about a month! I've got turkey and beef sliders, baked beans (mom's recipe), veggies, and kicked up brownies (extra chocolatey with icing) on the menu. Can't wait.
