Ginia Tech!

That's what Little Hauss says! We are working on VIRginia Tech, but he gets the idea! Even though he said he liked the man on the horse!!!!! Don't worry Hokie Fans, we are going to set him straight! The mind of a 3 year old just doesn't understand some things!!!
So, how nice was that win??? I would have loved to have SEEN it for myself!!! HAHA....I really did just pass out on the couch before the 1st quarter was over. Hubby woke up to watch the game and after I fed Little Hauss I just laid on the couch and got really comfy.....2 hours later, I was woken up by Little Hauss wanting a snack!!!! I obliged and sent him to the man cave to spend some much needed time with his daddy! I then made my one and only outing for the day to the grocery store! What an exciting life I lead!!! I know you're jealous!

Our Black Friday....or not!

Our Chef.....hilarious!

Shery and Uncle Zach
Well, what does everyone do the day after Thanksgiving??? Shop, eat leftovers??? Notsomuch!!! I do NOT frequent ANY retail establishment on Black Friday! EVER! The last time I step foot inside a mall on that particular day was when I was working at Victoria's Secret in college. It is insane and just not worth it to me. If you really think about it, the cost of gas you waste sitting in traffic, the time to stand in line and not to mention, getting up at the butt crack of dawn doesn't justify getting a good sale. Now, I love a good sale, but not with all that work! I'll just keep shopping early (ya know, a few months in advance) and check out coupons and sale ads just the same as I always have!
So, we spent our day after Thanksgiving in the comfort of our home hanging out with family and napping! It was wonderful! I did a little painting and we (little hauss and me) went to visit Hubby while he was playing cards with the guys for a little bit. Then, my parents, grandmother, brother and his girlfriend took us to a Japenese Steak House for dinner, because, naturally, we were sick of the bird!!! Everyone else must have been too, because it was packed! Hubby couldn't go because he had to work, but we enjoyed ourselves!!!
Little Hauss LOVED the chef, one of the best we've ever had, and even caught his first shrimp!!! It only took 2 tries. I even caught one too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Enjoy the bird - which I don't eat by the way! Love the rest of it though!

I really do have a lot to be thankful for, especially this year!

Gobble Gobbble!

Thank you!

Thanks to my swap partner for the wonderful Christmas decorations! I will be sending my gift to my swap partner on Monday! I had every intention of doing it today, but I got to sleep in until 9am!!!!!! and just didn't get out of the house in time!
So, it was perfect timing of my package beacause we got all the Christmas stuff out this morning and started decorating!!!! I really am in the spirit now. I've even started listening to Christmas music! So, the tree is up (but not decorated yet), the stockings are hung, and my Dicken's houses are in place. We didn't want to hang the ornaments without Little Hauss and he had to take a much needed nap, so we will do that tomorrow along with hanging the lights and garland outside.
I'm a little bummed because earlier this year we got new curtains and I went with reds for the kitchen, which I love, however, the red was too dark for my Christmas tablecloth and napkins!!!! Oh well, maybe I'll have to get new stuff???? Hmmmm, I'm sure Hubby would LOVE that.
Well, off to clean up the mess I've made and get ready to go watch the HOKIES!!!!!! Happy Saturday!

Just a note, I found out that my swap partner MADE the trees!!!! So creative and festive! LOVE IT!

Elf on the Shelf!

So, I'm really in the spirit these days! I just went to the biggest "craft" fair that our town has and they had such great stuff! Its almost wrong to call it a craft fair because it offers such a variety of products: jewelry, clothes, decorations, baby gifts, etc....WONDERFUL stuf! Now, I did get a few things for others on my list, but I did snatch up this wonderful book set:

Elf on the Shelf
This is an elf sent from Santa (yes, it comes with an actual elf doll and a shelf) that lives in your house throughout the holidays! He reports your behavior to Santa each night so he knows if you've been naughty or nice. When he returns each morning, he's hiding in a new spot so you have to search for him!!! It just seems really fun and I think Little Hauss will enjoy it this year now that he's getting a litte more into Christmas!
I really want to put it out now, but I think I'll wait until after Thanksgiving!

Feeling Crafty!

So, I love love love to paint, craft, create!!! I've been on kick lately with ideas realing through my brain!!! I haven't had much time to do these things in the last few years because of one little monster I am trying to keep up with! Well, he's becoming quite independent these days and can entertain himself (or a movie can entertain him too) for a little longer than he used to which gives me a little more time to do some things! I guess I'm in the spirit and am getting excited about the Holidays coming up! More so because I LOVE to give handmade or personalized gifts to the people I am close to. I just think it says something so much more than a gift card or other gifts! Well, we have an event this weekend here in my hometown that draws a big crowd of very crafty vendors and I like to go to scope out what the new trends are and to search for new ideas that I can try to recreate with my own spin on it! Well, Here is a little taste of one of my new creations! Monogrammed Christmas Ornament!!

I also paint glasses....wine glasses, pilsners, mugs, vases, etc! Here are a few samples of things I've done for clients in the past!

With the Holidays fastly approaching, I will be taking orders! If you or someone you know would like anything, please let me know!

The Swap is ON!!!

I'm so excited! I am participating in my first swap among the blogworld!! It is hosted by Clemsongirl and is going to be so much fun!
It is a Preppy Christmas Decorations Swap! I just found out who my swap partner is tonight and I've already check out her blog!!! I was already concocting ideas of things that could be included in my swap package before I had a partner! She's a cute young mom to be (litearlly in about weeks or less) and I couldn't be more thrilled!
Thanks Clemsongirl for hosting!

Never too late!

Well, even though we didn't get to go trick or treating, we did get to carve a pumpkin!

A Happy Pumpkin at that!

First Sleepover

Little Hauss had his first official sleepover!!! With a GIRL! The daddies were on a weekend fishing trip and the mommies needed a little break, so Little Hauss and I packed up and went over to our friend's house to spend Saturday night! We had pizza and wine (just the mommies), played with some toys, had a bath (the kiddies), and then watched some Grey's! It wasn't a wild and crazy night but it was nice to have adult company and let the kiddies play together! Little Hauss did great and slept in his own room...took him a little while to fall alseep, but other than that, it was fine! Here are some cute photos of the kiddies enjoying bath time!

Go Hokies!!!

I love a good football game, but I would much rather Tailgate!!! We go all out....a full spread! I go all out on mostly everything else too, so this wasn't a stretch for me! Thursday night games are the best, but we are up there really early so we have plenty of time to get silly!
Go Hokies!

As Promised....Photos

Of the Pumpkin House and the boys in leaves......

Sick as a dog!!!

Yep, before I could even get the dang shot, I got the flu....I guess that's what it was!
We had a great trip to 'Tuckey, as Little Hauss would say to visit Hubby's brother and sister in law and cousin! Little Hauss is only about 3 months older than his cousin and it makes for perfect playing! They were so excited to see each other....cousin wouldn't even take a nap on Friday, then crashed shortly after we got there due to all the anticipation.
We had a great time visiting, playing and just letting boys be boys! ALL boys that is....the little ones kept the mamma's busy while the big boys went down the road to some casinos in WV that recently got table games...poker, blackjack, and craps! The oldest brother met them there and they had a good day of fun! Hubby did fairly well and came home a winner!!! Something I always like to hear!
We did visit this place called the Pumpkin House. It was amazing. Pumpkins are donated and volunteers work it but its spectacular. They are carved with everything from sports, to food, to muscial instruments to medicines, ect....it really is a sight. Totally FREE. I forgot my camera! Yep, felt like I left a limb at home, but luckily my sister in law takes wonderful photos so I will have some for posting later! There was this one wall of pumpkins that were carved of muscial instruments and it lit up to different songs as those instruments were being played...mostly classical...It was wonderful. Little Hauss could have sat there all night and watched!
So, on Saturday night I felt a little run down, but took something and slept well, but woke up and didn't feel any better. The ride home wasn't that great...I slept and then I took a 3 hour nap after we got back! Hubby did a great job of taking over! Dinner, unpacking, laundry, church for Little Hauss (and snack) , bath, bed....then all over again the next morning....breakfast, dressed, and off too school!!! I could barely move yesterday and stayed on the couch most of the time! I did have to take a shower, but it really didn't make me feel much better! I ended up with a fever of 101 and aches and pains for days! I'm just now starting to feel a little better! I hope that's all I get of anything for the rest of the season!

Well, the polls are closed.......lets see how it all works out! I'm anxious!!!
