Bad Words!!!!!!

SO, I know it was bound to happen, and it did!!! Little Hauss said a bad word yesterday at school....The "S" word! Now, this is TOTALLY my fault! Hubby will testify to that as well! He actually calls it "mommy's word" instead of a bad word! Now, I TRY really hard and I've gotten better at not saying ANYTHING nasty in front of Little Hauss, but I have to admit it has slipped occassionally. I'm not sure its even been recently, but like you hear, kids are like sponges!!! They act like they don't hear what you've said, but then weeks later, it comes back to bite you in the bottom (that is an approved word in our household)!
The craziest part of the whole thing is that Little Hauss was the one that told me.....like mommy, like son! I can't lie and I always tell on myself! The ONLY thing his teacher told me was he didn't listen very well yesterday! He told me that the other teacher is the one that put him in time out after he said it and she wasn't in the room when I picked him up so I don't know!!! I will definitely get clarification on this tomorrow!!!!
Oh well, we had another talk about our words so hopefully I'll do better, and then he'll do better too!!!

Halloween Party!

Happy Halloween!
Now, normally, I would have a cute picture of Little Hauss all dressed up in his Halloween Costume, but unfortunately he won't be dressing up this year, so I thought I'd post our picture instead! Didn't want to disappoint you!!!
We will be traveling this weekend to visit Hubby's brother and family, so Little Hauss can't trick-or treat and we didn't want to buy a costume just for the sake of it! He wants to be Spider Man, so Gigi bought him some Spidy PJs and he's content!!! He's more excited about playing with his cousing and seeing the Pumpkin House! I promise that is worth NOT trick or treating and I will post pictures for sure!
So, Hubby and I went to a Halloween Party last weekend where costumes were REQUIRED!!! I don't love dressing up and am very frugal, so I was determined to find a cheap and funny costume for the both of us. Hubby is in law enforcement, so we felt appropriate to do a spin on this. So, as you can see, I was the officer/guard, and he was my inmate/prisoner!

The orange/blue combo is what the inmates wear in our local jail facility if they are trustees or help with cleaning, painting, etc. We couldn't get our hands on any black and white jumpsuits, but we tried!!!

We're baaaacckk!!!

Carousel ride with Gigi, Zoo Atlanta Entrance, and train ride!

Helping with Dishes

Gigi and Pop

LOVE the LeapPad!
So, we had a semi-fun filled trip to the ATL! Semi fun for me that is! I was feeling a little tightness in my upper back early last week and low and behold, I pulled that muscle on Saturday night, which put me out of commission for about 2 1/2 days! Thank goodness for Gigi and Pop who picked up the slack with Little Hauss while I over medicated myself and laid up in their bed (because your parents' bed is so much more comfy) and caught up on some TIVO....Thank you Gigi!!!

Other than that, we had a great trip. Little Hauss was a perfect traveling mate and only whined a bit when overly tired and too bored from watching dvds! We stopped off in Chattanooga, TN to visit my grandmothers for a while before heading further south!

Thursday was a rest day and Pop was still out of town on a business trip, so we took naps, very long naps!!! It was fabulous! Friday, we had some visitors that we don't get to see very often and had fun catching up and enjoyed a great meat filled dinner for Vic (Sara's a vegetarian, so we load him up on protein when they visit)! Little Hauss got a kick out of their new "transformer car" the EOS by VW, red of course!!! Vic swears that they aren't getting anymore new cars, but I think he might be out for a Mercedes convertible after Pop took him on a joyride after dinner!!!! We'll see!!!

Saturday we prepped for the wino night and ran some errands around town, Little Hauss helped with dishes and cleaning the patio off! We grilled pizzas and had some yummy Sangria (thanks Pop)!
Sunday, I really don't recall much!!! I was laid up in bed on pain meds and Little Hauss would peak in every so often to check on me! We did go for some all you can eat sushi which was really yummy, but I didn't get to try as much as I wanted because I just felt lousy! Oh well, I'm sure Hubby will be excited that we'll all get to go back next time when he's with us!

We did make it to the zoo after I got some good rest and Little Hauss did wonderful! This was the first time he walked and we didn't have one meltdown! We rode the train, the carousel, and played on the playground as well as checking out some animals!

We made the long trip back yesterday and I made up for all my time off with a very long day at work!

Back to my vino!

Migrating South....

Just for a long weekend! Little Hauss and I are heading out of town tonight to spend some quality time with Gigi and Pop in Hotlanta!!! So excited are we! We both get a little spoiled, well, I get a little spoiled and he gets spoiled A LOT!!! It's to be expected though!!!
So, we have lots of stuff planned, which is typcial for my side of the family, but we have so much fun running ourselves silly! The hubby is staying at home and probably greatful for a little break, but he'll miss us, for sure!
We will be visiting the Atlanta Zoo, IKEA (its a must), the outlets, and all you can eat Sushi!!!!! YUMMO! In addition to all that, we'll have some overnight guests on Friday (my best friend from growing up and her husband who live in ATL) and then Gigi and Pop are hosting their wine tasting club on Saturday night!!! I'm sure Little Hauss will be the provided entertainment!!!
We are making a stop in Chattanooga tonight to spend some time with my grandmothers, so it will break up the trip a little and we won't have to make a special trip later on! DVD player and Leappad are ready to go!!!! Pray for a smooth ride and no tantrums!!!!!

I promise to post pictures upon our return!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas????

Ok, I am a planner! For those who know me, know that I love to make lists, organize, plan things in advance, etc. Basically I'm your typical Type A Obsessive Compulsive freak! I love it, I don't care. My friends make fun of me, but deep down, they love it too I'm pretty sure because that means they don't have to do it themselves!!!
So, that brings me to Christmas...yeah, I said it, Christmas! IT'S NOT EVEN HALLOWEEN YET! and there are decorations for Christmas up everywhere! I do have to admit that I have started thinking about gifts for people and I might have even looked at some cards, but I haven't even gotten out my Fall/Halloween decorations! I know it's fastly approaching, but I've been busy! I'm not even sure of our plans for Thanksgiving, so I just can't even begin to think about Christmas! I think it starts earlier every year. It just baffles me! Hmmmmm.......

Facelift

For the page!!! I LOVED the owl design for the Blog, but just had a hard time reading it! I played around with colors and fonts, but just wasn't happy! This should be easier to read and I like the simpleness of the design! Hope you like it to! I've posted a link that you can get your own facelift if you want!

"Punkin" Patch

We went up the road a bit to a local "Punkin" Patch, as Little Hauss would say! It was so much fun and highly recommended for anyone with or without kids to enjoy!
We tried to get there fairly early to beat the crowds and to ensure an enjoyable, tantrum free morning!!!! Activities in the mornings seem to be better for us so we are always waiting on doors to open!!!
So, we started out at the barn with all sorts of farm animals including a donkey and turkeys! Little Hauss especially liked the horse "Maude" and the cow with her calf. We then took our turn on the "pony" ride, but Bunny was a little bit big I thought to be a pony, but all the same, he loved it! Next we walked around to see all the goodies they had to offer and Little Hauss settled on face painting with a green spiderweb complete with black spider! He's got an obsession with spiders and spiderman these days!!!
After that, Little Hauss and I left Hubby behind to take a hay ride. Unbeknownst to us, we thought we were just taking a little ride and coming right back, so we left Hubby with camera to wait on us, when in all actuality, we were headed to the pumpkin patches!!!! So, sorry to say we don't have any photos to share at this time of Little Hauss picking his pumpkin! However, it seemed that a few friends of ours had the same idea today, and we were lucky enough to find one in the patch that graciously took some photos and will be emailing them to me soon!!! Thanks goodness for Ms Christine!
Little Hauss found a good punkin' fairly quickly and then we headed back to meet Hubby. We then got some lunch and a cupcake complete with a candy pumpkin on top! That brought our day to a conclusion and before we even got off at our exit, Little Hauss was passed out, thumb in mouth!!! He is a thumb sucker, a habit we are desperately working on breaking, but while in sleep mode, that thing is NOT coming out, no matter how hard we try! The video below shows how he won't let it go!
Also, thanks to my cousin, we had the overalls! I just wanted to see if they fit and then he wouldn't take them off!!!! So, I guess he just wanted to look the part on the farm. He wasn't as dressed up as one little cowboy we saw with hat, boots and even a gun!!!! Too cute!

Proud of his Punkin'
Heading to the patches!

He's a good milker!

Petting "Maude"

Taking a ride on "Bunny"
Sat really still for his spider web!
Ooh! Scary!
Hayride to the pumpkin patch!

"Beans"

Today at the Pumpkin Patch, there was an area where some animals were on display and you could pet and get up close and personal! Well, Little Hauss LOVES animals and couldn't wait to see the horse, cow, pigs, goats and even chickens. As we go by the sheep, there are some baby lambs in there and all you hear is "Mamma, look at those beans!" Yeah, I guess that's what it looks like to a 3 year old! In actuality, its just some poop!!!! Oh well, as long as he doesn't try to eat the beans, I guess we're ok!

Varisty Blues Revisited

Have you ever seen "Varsity Blues"? If so, then you know that the whole town revolves around the High School football team! Well, our town isn't that far off from that concept. I love a good football game, but these days, I'm more interested in how Little Hauss enjoys them! There is a large hill that all the kids play on and roll down at the stadium, and don't you think for a minute that Little Hauss wasn't right there in the action! He did pretty well of not getting in any big kids way or getting trampled by the many touch football games going on around him. He is next in line to be a great football player or coach. He comes from a long line of them...Hubby's dad, Papa, was a player, even in the hall of fame for his college team, and a great coach for a couple high school teams, then there's an uncle who played for Virginia Tech on a full scholarship who then went on to coach at Marshall University, and then Hubby who played at the College level as well. So, with all that history behind him and the size, he has potential to be great! Well, we might be in for a surprise because this is how the evening played out. Get to the game, hang out at a little tailgate, go into stadium, get to hill, play on hill and roll around.......hear drums, stop, sit still in mom's lap and watch the entire pre game show!!!!!!! Music ends, back to rolling down hill and running off all the suckers had at the tailgate, halftime, drums again......stops dead in his tracks, sits still and watches entire half time show!!!!!! So, we might just have to wait and see how all this pans out!!!! Nothing wrong with being a musician, but I know a few tough guys that might be a little disappointed if he's not in some shoulder pads sporting a helmet!!!!

Pre game show

Another Sucker!

The whole family!

Below is a video of the fun Little Hauss had rolling down the big hill! By the way, this was just one of the many repeat performances of the night!

Fun on the Farm....well, the creamery!

Fall, I love it. Its the my favorite season of the year! The changing of the leaves, the crispness in the air, the comfort food! I love everything about it. There are so many fun and exciting things to experience that I want to share with little hauss, so we've already gotten started.
We've recently started buying milk from a local creamery and its wonderful! They deliver to the house every week and we've expanded into more items as well which is great to support a local business, the milk is hormone free, and it tastes great!
Well, they had an open house last weekend that we took little hauss to and we all had so much fun! There were hayrides, tractor train rides, ice cream, fresh cider making (by hand), a petting zoo that included cows and chickens, and tours of the creamery! I would definitely recommend experiencing something like this with little ones.

My Sweet Angel

It warms my heart to hear my little hauss tell me he loves me! He always says it back after I tell him first and on occassion, he tells me first! But, when he woke up in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago to go potty and I tucked him back in bed, I heard the sweetest words...."I love you momma" as I left the room. He makes me melt!
